Meet the BCBA’s!

Michele O’Connor
BCBA, M.Ed., NCC, LBS-PA

My name is Michele O’Connor. I hold a Masters of Education in Counseling, M.Ed., Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification, BCBA, Licensed Behavior Specialist, LBS-PA, and Nationally Certified Counselor, NCC credentials. I completed by master’s work at The Pennsylvania State University and I completed by ABA certification coursework at Florida Institute of Technology.

I have been in the field of ABA since 2006. In addition to teaching at Capella University as an ABA instructor and working as a subject matter expert for 5thedition curriculum development revisions, I provide training, supervision and behavior plan reviews for ABA agencies to their Analyst clinicians and RBT’s. I also provide direct face-to-face as well as remote BCBA services overseeing and delivering ABA programming. I work with kiddos just being identified with a diagnosis as early as 18 months up until 21 years of age to provide behavioral analytic support as well as more skill-based and functional communication acquisition training. My experience is with home and community-based services as well as school-based services. Regardless of the setting, all of the programming is driven by evidence-based assessments, research and data analysis based on the basic principles of behavior analysis. I work with school IEP teams, insurance companies and private families to collect and analyze data driven interventions to justify our services and provide documentation.

I hope to bring my work experiences to life within the services you seek to help you make sense of the topics you are learning about to not just obtain your desired credential but also to be great clinicians who can easily put the information into real-life practice.

My husband and I have two children who keep us active outside of our busy work and teaching lives. So, I understand finding the balance among coursework, work, hobbies and family commitments. I am flexible in working out a plan to get you the services for which you are in need.

I am looking forward to building a working relationship with you and to help you gain a better understanding of Behavior Analysis techniques and interventions to meet your goals.
